Cardiovascular fitness training, also known as aerobic training - is sustained exercise involving the large muscle groups. It ideally increases the heart rate to a designated range called the “target heart range” or “exercise heart range.” Sometimes, you’ll see the terms rate and range used interchangeably, though range is generally a scope of numbers that encompass the more specific rate, which is usually just one number. Cardio by Brown typically consists of biking, hiking, swimming and running, along with the use of elliptical and treadmill machines, and others.
Polymetric
Polymetric drills involve a quick, powerful movement using a pre-stretch or counter-movement that involves the stretch shortening cycle (1). Classical polymetric exercises include various types of jump training and upper body drills using medicine balls.

Fitness Boxing is a whole body workout that meets the above criteria and more.
It takes the best aspects of workouts used by some of the world’s most finely conditioned athletes, boxers. It combines them into a fitness program that is safe for the mainstream exercise devotee. In other words, with Fitness Boxing, you train like a boxer in everything but full contact sparring. (That aspect of boxing is left to professional boxing coaches in the relative safety of a standard boxing ring.)

Speed Training
The act of consistently moving and accelerating helps to condition the neuromuscular system, while also improving the firing patterns of your fast twitch muscle fibers. That’s why Body by Brown employs two basic speed training variations - Assisted and Resisted. Assisted training (also called “overspeed training”) helps to improve your stride frequency, while Resisted training helps to improve your speed, strength and stride length.

Sports Training
Unlike bodybuilding, in which the main goal is to increase the size and appearance of muscles, strength training programs are designed to develop explosive power and muscular endurance. However, rather than immediately embarking on a program to improve either or both of these fitness components, a more effective approach is to first build a solid foundation. Shape by Brown is extremely effective in developing the following sports-related disciplines:
- Develop receiver routes
- Baseball Arm Strength
- Football Arm Strength
- Baseball pitching delivery
- Hurdling technique
- Softball batting
- Baseball batting
- Basketball jumping
- Basketball speed/agility
- Increase 40 yard dash speeds
